Bayou Runners Association participated in "Relay for Life" which was held at Nicholls State University on Friday, April 7, 2006. The team raised $ 1250.75 for the American Cancer Society.

Bayou Runners Association Team members participating in the relay were Loretta Naquin, Lucy Troxler, Ricky and Lisa Murphy, Cathy Ritter, Bobby Bergeron, and team captain Richard Strasbourg. Richard wore an alligator costume most of the night while doing laps. He won a certificate for doing the most laps (79) which is approximately 20 miles. Cancer survivor Bobby Bergeron walked for approximately 6 hours as the crowd cheered him on..

We are planning on participating in Relay for Life in 2007. We will place a large jar at all of our races to raise money throughout the year for the relay in addition to other types of fund raisers.
